Les Britanniques ont fait pression sur la France pour qu'elle reste en dehors du conflit interne espagnol. Cela a incité le médailleur Kart Goetz à concevoir cette médaille.

Photo : Le 17 juillet 1936, un soulèvement de l'armée contre le gouvernement espagnol démocratiquement élu a éclaté au Maroc espagnol. Notre photo montre les putschistes ; Le général Francisco Franco (l'armée confédérée) et Emilio Mola Vidal (avec des lunettes ; l'armée du Nord).

La photo au dos montre des soldats franquistes de la « Légion Condor » (Infanterie-Ausbildungsschule à Avila)

ici, les candidats officiers des « Freiwilligenkorps » allemands sont formés pour devenir des officiers en huit semaines. Ces volontaires ont été envoyés par Hitler pour soutenir la guerre civile (1936 - 39).
