After being on Delcampe for a short while, I had to open a dispute with a seller because I didn't get my goods.....even after many, many unanswered emails to the seller from me and emails from Paypal via their dispute resoloution centre...and even after emails from Luke at Delcampe....they were never answered NOT ONE OF THEM....COMPLETLEY IGNORED.....so Delcampe CLOSED the dispute and the seller is still selling !!

Paypal have now agreed in my favour and gave me all my money back and I have left the appropriate feedback as a warning to others....and another buyer has done the same

Even after a warning letter from Luke telling them that if they make no contact with me they would be suspended....they are still on.....All I ask for is what I paid for and if there is a problem just COMMUNICATE and Delcampe sort these people out ! :angryfire:

Dear,

I will ask Luke to look into this again. I know he already did but will request an update.

Dear Management,

I have opened a dipspute with one of my buyer. We always managing carefully all the closed auctions (with bids) and with a 7 years experiment in selling (and buying) we are trying to have 100% positive feedback in all sites where we are present.
I would like to ask you if there is no any other solution (even we are waiting for a month or two .-..or three to be contacted by the other end for finishing the transaction) and we are going to give neutral or negative feedback (50% or less) there is a 95% possibility to get it back with false explanation.
In that case we decided do not leave any other feddback only 100% positive, but if that is not true and we placed it only to save our 100% feedback level ?

I'm sure that there were many discussion about this situation but I didn't find anything about it.

I would appreciate to get some opinions about it.

Best regards,

merlion (John)

Dear Merlion,

Nearly two years ago I experienced a situation of "revenge" feedback from an unprofessional seller. I bid, won and paid for an item I had been looking for for a long time, only to have the seller return my money with the explanation that "the item was no longer in his possession". :angryfire:

Naturally, I was very disappointed and left 50% feedback for offering items he doesn't have. He retaliated with 50% feedback to me, but when I complained to Pascal (at that time) he removed the feedback. Now the seller's account is closed.

I believe both my and Paulswift's experience is caused by the same problem, however, a problem I have voiced in this forum several times in the past:

The possibility for sellers to endlessly repeat their auctions again and again without any requirements to update or follow-up of their material. This causes Delcampe's servers to clog up with countless old auctions nobody ever want to bid on, sellers to just upload 1000's of worthless items and leave them there without cost, searches to take incredible long time, returning 10's of 1000's of items impossible to go through when you don't visit here often enough to make use of the "new since" options... For all we know, Paulswifts seller could be dead!

For this reason I hardly ever visit Delcampe anymore. It's a pity, because the basic structure and design of the site is excellent - but the operation of it could be improved a lot!

I won loads of items off this seller and paid with paypal....These items I won NEVER got to me....they refused to sell them to me for no reason.....I have excellent feedback, all 100%...and I live in a country they send to....And I had NOT ONE email off them with a reason why

They were suspended from Delcampe because they never answered a single email off me....Paypal or Delcampe.

Now this seller is back on, relisting the items I "won" over and over and over again....They never sell them !!!!

I buy my postcards in bulk.....20/30 at a time....sometimes more, but I now find I am looking at the same "stale" postcards over and over again so I now just stick with one or two sellers I can trust and who has "fresh" stock listed more or less every week

I fully agree with Bjorn that the site is now getting clogged up with items no one can sell.....or DON'T WANT TO SELL !!

It's a shame really as I love Delcampe, but.....to be blunt....It's got boring....Looking at the same rubbish over and over again :(

Thank you, Merlion, you found exactly the word I have been looking for!

Delcampe concept is excellent, design and functionality is good, staff and (most) members are friendly etc etc... So why do I log on only every second month?

- Because it is BORING!

Sorry, but I had to say it :D

Hi Bjorn,

I suppose that you would like to say Paul instead Merlion :dunno:

Sorry for not being able answering to you but I'm so busy these days.
As soon as I can I'll let you know my opinion.
Paul and you are right but a story has two sides and there are many reason to keep Delcampe as it is even there are sometimes impossible to find what you are searching for ...as a buyer...

Best regards,

merlion
